01

Identify the body and lighting application

Start with production details, original market, body version and the relevant original equipment record. A car registered after a facelift may still belong to an earlier specification. Later body changes should be disclosed rather than assumed to represent the factory build.

The China Sportage identity guide helps keep those distinctions visible. Request the installed component identification where available and have the supplier or workshop match it through an appropriate parts source. A generic Sportage lamp listing does not establish fitment for a particular market or lighting system.

02

Diagnose what actually needs replacing

Ask the workshop to distinguish visible damage from the complete repair requirement. A cracked outer lamp, a reported electrical concern and damaged mounting points may involve different work. The buyer should not select a replacement solely from an attractive photograph before the cause and scope are understood.

Use the inspection file to record the finding and any related damage. Keep cosmetic observations separate from structural or functional assessment. A body-panel quotation does not establish that the wider impact condition has been assessed, and a tidy photograph cannot certify the completed repair.

03

Match equipment and supplied components

Request the exact component identifiers and a description of what the quotation includes. A bare assembly, a unit supplied with electronics and a used complete component may represent different packages. The provider should establish which application and associated items are required for the actual vehicle.

For lighting, ask a qualified local provider to assess suitability for the destination’s applicable requirements. Do not assume that similar appearance means the same lighting function or road-use suitability. Keep that determination with the responsible provider rather than inferring approval from a seller’s broad compatible-with-Sportage description.

04

Define the finish and installation scope

Body work may require more than the visible panel. Ask the workshop to identify relevant fittings, finishing, installation and required completion checks. If colour matching is part of the job, describe the agreed outcome and evidence rather than assuming a paint code guarantees an invisible match under every condition.

The windscreen and ADAS record guide addresses the related evidence when glass work is involved. For components associated with sensors or driver assistance, have the qualified repairer determine any required setup and verification. Do not prescribe a universal calibration procedure remotely. The quotation should identify who is responsible for completing the applicable work and documenting its result before the car is described as ready.

05

Clarify the part’s status and support

Ask whether the proposed component is new, used, remanufactured or another stated category, and retain the supplier’s description. If a used part is offered, request available condition evidence and any relevant limitations. A lower price does not establish equivalence to another proposal with a different supplied scope.

Confirm availability, delivery timing and the handling of a mismatch before approving an order. Clarify which evidence the supplier needs and which responsibilities the parties agree. These terms do not prove compatibility, but they prevent an unresolved matching question from becoming an unassigned cost after the vehicle reaches its destination.

06

Compare the finished repair cost

Consider two damaged-car offers where one quote includes a matched assembly, installation and verification while the other lists only a bare part. Those totals are not directly comparable. Ask for the missing scope before treating the second offer’s apparent discount as dealer margin.

The handover record should distinguish planned work from completed work. Retain the final component description, invoice and appropriate verification evidence. If the provider substitutes a part, recheck the application and support terms instead of assuming the earlier approval transfers to a different product.

07

Send the matching information with the enquiry

Tell Panda whether the requirement concerns a new or used vehicle, the accepted body versions and any repair-dependent candidate being considered. Provide the vehicle identity and relevant component information through an agreed channel. Request the complete preparation proposal rather than a broad price for a Sportage headlight.

If the correct application or repair outcome cannot yet be established, keep the candidate conditional and assign the next check. A useful sourcing decision explains what will be supplied, who will complete the work and which evidence closes it. It does not rely on a general model label to bridge gaps in fitment or condition.
